Barbed's new stylish outdoor furniture
One of the best things about the start of a new year is that you get to discover new designs and new collections, and when you are as enthusiastic about clever designs and creativity as we are, it's a really exciting time! Remember the 2013 collections, perfect for both indoor and outdoor use?
Our favourite outdoor furniture manufacturers, French furniture specialists Fermob and Danish furniture company Cane-Line have new products that we can’t wait to feature in our Barnes showroom - in addition to some of our favourite pieces!
Fermob 2014 collections
2 Brand new colours
We already mentioned previously the new Fermob colours, Honey and Capucine, which are absolutely vivid and bright new additions to the 20+ colours chart, bringing the number of colours available for Fermob furniture to 24. Furthermore, the 2013 colour Plum joins the colour made with Fermob's Outdoor Textile Fabric (OTF). Fermob put to the vote the new colours, asking people to vote between Capucine and Blue Lagoon, and the competition was so close we can only wonder if Blue Lagoon will be next year’s new hue!
New Fermob products
Coming back to 2014, we are delighted by the new pieces of furniture we’ve already received and those pieces which will be arriving soon to our London Fermob shop-in-shop. Among these are additions to the lovely Bellevie and Sixties ranges which will allow you to create the perfect garden furniture set!
The Sixties Dining Chair
The Sixties Dining Chair will be joining the Sixties Low Table, the Sixties Armchair and the Sixties Bench so if you like curvy and retro aluminium furniture we’re pretty sure you’ll love the new Sixties Chair, which paired with a Tertio or Bistro table would be perfect for a balcony!
The Bellevie Chair
Another chair added to the wide collections of outdoor chairs by Fermob is the Bellevie Chair which will join the Bellevie Table and the Bellevie Bench with their very recognisable geometric and contemporary style.
The Kintbury range
While the Bellevie Chair is ‘only’ one product added to an existing range, the Kintbury collection is a whole new range designed by Terence Conran in collaboration with Fermob. Made up of a garden table and stackable chairs, Kintbury is a lovely furniture set ready to add that English garden feel to your garden or terrace – with the use of French furniture! We can't wait to receive the range in April.
The Ellipse Chair
The Ellipse range is currently comprised of the Ellipse Low Table made of aluminium and the Ellipse Bench, a combination of aluminium frame and outdoor fabric for added comfort. Very soon, the bench and table will be joined by the Ellipse Chair, with a laid-back look and inviting shape which promises long restful days in the open, taking the sun in and relaxing.
New Cane-Line products
Cane-Line, who are famous for offering low maintenance and weatherproof furniture, are introducing new products such as the Traveller Chair and the Chill-Out Tables, but they are also offering new colour opportunities for the On the Move range, which will now be available in divine Turquoise.
The Traveller Chair
To us, there are two explanations behind the name “Traveller Chair” given by Cane-Line to their new outdoor chair: firstly, it makes for a comfortable seat to relax after a day of adventure and travels, wherever you are, and secondly – and most importantly – this chair is actually a folding chair, making it the perfect furniture to travel with, to feel like home anywhere, any time!
The Chill-Out Tables
The Chill-Out Tables by Cane-Line are a clever and easy-to-move design which we love. The Chill-out side table is actually a set of two tables, with the smaller one fitting right underneath the larger table, easy to grab when you need it, and otherwise unnoticeable!
The Chill-Out Coffee Table, on the other hand, is a 2-sizes-in-1 table: it looks like a normal coffee table, but the top of the table can move and rise to a different height when you wish your coffee table to become a patio or picnic table. Clever, isn’t it? Just like the other Chill-Out table, this coffee table is a sharp design that helps you save space, and that’s why we love these new pieces of furniture!

While we keep the most popular furniture, colour selections and ranges in our showroom, we don’t have enough space to store every piece of furniture in every colour for all our manufacturers. Fermob furniture in particular is generally made to order because of the wide choice of combinations available, which means that it can take up to 6 weeks for an item to be delivered to us in Barnes. This means that if you want furniture by April-May when the sun comes out you may want to order it now!
