Film4 Summer Screen comes to London’s Somerset House

If you’re a movie lover, you’re sure to be a big fan of the two weeks’ worth of Film4 Summer Screen showings that are set to take place next month. From August 9th to 22nd, Somerset House will play host to a variety of modern and classic movies under the starry summer skies at the open-air film festival.

The Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court is a stunning area, and it provides a glorious setting for London’s largest screen set, which itself has provided the backdrop to many famous movies.

A mixed movie list from a variety of genres

There will be a selection of genres to suit all film fanatics, with a mixed programme of UK premieres, old classical favourites as well as Cannes award-winning movies, and all available in impressive full outdoor surround sound.

Before the movies begin there will be the opportunity to enjoy DJ sets that are inspired by the movies, along with an exclusive screening of a short film that has been commissioned especially for the festival. There will also be special guest introductions on selected nights, and plenty of food and drink on offer to keep you going; or if you’d rather, you’re very welcome to take along your very own picnic.

Fantastic opportunity to make use of your comfortable cushions and blankets in a funky new environment, we must say!
