Blooming flowers at Hampton Court Palace

Blooming flowers at Hampton Court Palace

There are quite a few things we garden-lovers enjoy in life. Namely beautiful weather, comfortable garden furniture with style, dining outside, and an impressive flower show.

The latter is taking place next week, July 3rd - July 8th, in the form of the RHS flower show, which is one of the world’s largest of its kind, in the setting of the historic Hampton Court Palace. There is sure to be more colour and horticulture beauty than you can shake a stick at.

One of Britain’s greatest flower shows

The week will boast a combination of exquisite beauty of one of the greatest flower shows Britain has on offer with all the fun and excitement of a summer festival. There will be plenty of things to explore, with innovative show gardens, incredible flower displays, marquees with demonstrations from celebrity gardeners, a huge supply of tasty food and drink from onsite chefs, and fresh produce and gardening equipment available for purchase.

This year, the organisers are bringing something fresh to the show as visitors will be able to experience a purple meadow full of thousands of Verbena bonariensis, which will create a stunning display of lilac, lavender and violet sweeping across the Long Water. Talk about a photo opportunity!

You can also explore the evolution of plants on Earth in the “Evolve: Through the Roots of Time” workshop, which will take an interesting look at the journey from the earliest organisms, through ferns and to our rich flora of today. There will also be “The Lifestyle Gardens”, which is a brand-new garden category that is set to feature garden patches designed by female gardeners looking to make a positive difference to our home and health.

Add in some live music and fabulous shopping opportunities and the recipe is there for a unique family day out for all, with plenty to inspire you with ideas for your own outdoor space - all in one of London’s finest settings.
