The Olympic Torch to pass through Barnes on the Thames

Our showroom is just down the road from the Thames, so we're very excited that the Olympic Torch procession will be going up the river next Friday, 27th July!

The procession up the Thames is the final leg of the torch's epic 70 day journey around the United Kingdom. It will start from Hampton Court, and travel up the Thames as part of a small flotilla, to arrive at the Olympic Stadium in the evening for the Opening Ceremony. The last torchbearer will light the Cauldron in the Stadium, marking the official start of the games, and will stay lit until the closing ceremony. You can see the map and find out more details on the Richmond Borough Council website.

On Tuesday 24th July, the Torch will be travelling by road from Kingston-Upon-Thames to Ealing via Richmond

If you’re down by the river at Barnes to see the torch on Friday, why not pop in to the Barbed showroom to pick up some garden furniture? With the weather set to improve at last (touch wood), it’s a great time to get a new lounger or chair so you can watch the Olympics from the comfort of your garden.
